Rebel Rents Shares National Equipment Register (NER) Success Story

December 2005 - Rebel Rents recently posted the following success story on their website and asked NER to share it with other equipment owners:

Rebel Rents Senior Manager, Doug Fleury was contacted by a detective with the California Highway Patrol, who was following up a lead on a suspected piece of stolen equipment.

The detective had run the serial number through the National Equipment Register’s database of stolen equipment and found that it matched to a John Deere 310SG registered with NER by Rebel Rents. The equipment was reported stolen many months ago off one of our customer’s jobsites. At that time, a police report was taken and the theft was registered with the NER.

NER provided our contact information and the detective called us directly to let us know our equipment had been recovered. Without the equipment being registered, we may have not been notified immediately, allowing us to get the equipment back without costly impound fees. Or, we may not have gotten it back at all.

We wanted to say thank you to the NER for their assistance. We certainly recommend their service and believe it to be a valuable tool.
